Refrigeration engineering and heat pumps

Higher performance requirements, energy efficiency and specifications to use environmentally friendly or natural refrigerants (such as CO2) are leading to a rapid increase in frequency inverter-controlled compressors.

This applies to all types of compressors, such as rotary compressors, scroll compressors or reciprocating compressors. The use of speed-controlled pumps and fans is also steadily increasing in order to preserve resources.

Typical applications

  • Industrial cooling
  • Medical technology
  • Machine tools
  • Building technology

Communicative and safe

The compact i550 cabinet (here 11 kW / 15 hp) permits the connection of all necessary fieldbuses with predefined PLC modules.

The optional integrated STO functionality offers protection against overpressure in the cooling circuit.

Further applications in refrigeration technology for pumps and fans can be solved in the same way with the cost-optimized i510 cabinet inverter.

Lenze frequency inverters provide

Energy efficiency

Lowest energy losses with the i-series

PID controller

Integrated, easy to operate and powerful,
e.g. for negative pressure control

Higher motor frequency

50 to 80 Hz leads to an increase in
output power for the same compressor
size compared to direct-on-line operation.

Compact inverters

Reduction of control cabinet costs
with integrated EMC filter
also for decentralized mounting

Parameterization

  • Simple
  • Without mains power
  • Via USB

Hot gas overpressure protection

Optional STO module integrated in the i550.

BLDC motors

Operation is supported by the inverters.

IIoT – Inverter as sensor

Transfer of valuable data such as
current values, duty cycles etc. via
a fieldbus interface to the control system (PLC)
