Textile machines for the future – flexible and energy-efficient solutions with Lenze
Trigema and Xetma Vollenweider rely on innovative raising machines and intelligent drive technology for sustainable textile finishing
As Germany’s largest manufacturer of leisure and sportswear, Trigema focuses on innovation and independence – 100% Made in Germany. At its Burladingen site, every component is produced entirely in-house – from fabric production to the finished garment. For the finishing of high-quality textiles, the company needed a raising machine capable of delivering various raising grades – from fine to coarse fleece – all with a single machine.
Xetma Vollenweider, a German-Swiss company with a long-standing tradition, specializes in developing and manufacturing machine systems for surface finishing of all types of textiles. For Trigema, the machine builder developed the highly flexible raising machine it was looking for—combining multiple finishing processes in a single system. Its standout feature: within just a few minutes, different carding elements can be automatically changed to produce various raising grades—from fine to coarse fleece. The machine operates with several rollers arranged in the form of a drum and equipped with carding elements. As the rollers and drum rotate, the fabric passes over them and is raised—creating the characteristic fleece fabric in top quality.
Xetma Vollenweider has equipped the raising machine with state-of-the-art drive and control technology from Lenze. For this application, the c550 controller is used along with the i700 servo inverter for motion control. The DC-link coupling of the frequency inverters enables the recovery of energy from drives operating in generator mode – a key contribution to resource conservation.
